The first request I received when I announced that I would be uploading books on mission was for something\u00a0about work in\u00a0Japan. This little booklet contains “some soul-stirring accounts of God’s grace in Japan”, so I hope that it proves of interest.<\/p>\n

Chapter 1. The Starting Point<\/h3>\n

Our one and only aim and object in sending out this\u00a0booklet is to magnify the matchless grace of our Lord\u00a0Jesus Christ and to extol the efficacy of His precious Blood.\u00a0In these days of fearful declension, there is a greater need\u00a0than ever for Christian people to set forth in unmistakable\u00a0language and with the clearest possible emphasis the\u00a0greatness of the One Who died on Calvary as a ”propitiation\u00a0for the sins of the whole world.” It gives us the\u00a0greatest possible joy to record the fact that since this \u00a0work\u00a0commenced a few years ago, we have had ample opportunity\u00a0to prove, at least to our own satisfaction, the genuineness\u00a0and reality of the promises of God. Right from the outset\u00a0we have had one passion, and that has been to bring the\u00a0lost to Christ through the preaching of the old time Gospel\u00a0and through the work of the Holy Spirit in applying that\u00a0Gospel to their hearts and consciences.<\/p>\n

Some people have thought that this work of rescuing\u00a0the perishing was-to some extent at least-a waste of\u00a0time. (Their idea was that it was more social than spiritual).\u00a0We ourselves have never taken time to discuss terms nor to\u00a0make any attempt to separate the work of God into different\u00a0compartments. We are out first and last to get at the\u00a0people’s souls, and to see that they are brought into contact\u00a0with the cleansing and life-giving efficacy of Christ’s\u00a0atoning work.
