This degree of interest in Uganda surprised me – which of course demonstrates why taking a poll was a good idea! So, here is the first book on Uganda for those who requested it. Note to 3rd Edition<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The First Edition of ‘The Story of Uganda’ was\u00a0published by the Religious Tract Society. This\u00a0was revised and enlarged by Miss Stock and republished\u00a0in a Second Edition in 1894. In the course\u00a0of 1897 the stock remaining unsold of the unbound\u00a0sheets was purchased from the R. T .S. by the Church\u00a0Missionary Society, and Miss Stock was requested to\u00a0rewrite the last chapter, the seventeenth, and to add\u00a0others in order to bring the story up to date. This\u00a0was one of the last works in which her pen was\u00a0engaged, and it was not quite completed when her\u00a0Home-call came on August 29, 1898, while on a\u00a0visit to Penmaenmawr. Chapter XX. is the last one\u00a0by Miss Stock’s hand.<\/p>\n
