Its owner and editor, Dr. Robert McKilliam, launched it in response to the widespread interest in the timing of the return of Jesus Christ which arose prior to the end of the nineteenth Century. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The articles take a futurist view of the interpretation of prophecy and many of the contributor&#8217;s names are still well known today. They include E.W. Bullinger (author of <em>Figures of Speech in the Bible<\/em>), <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/David_Baron_(Messianic_leader)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">David Baron<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/missiology.org.uk\/ple_v-z_wilkes_a-paget.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Alphaeus Wilkes<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/missiology.org.uk\/blog\/dr-baedeker-russia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Friedrich Wilhelm Baedeker [1823-1906]<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Thomas_Newberry\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Thomas Newberry<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Robert_Anderson_(Scotland_Yard_official)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Robert Anderson<\/a> (author of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/biblicalstudies.org.uk\/book_daniel_anderson.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Daniel in the Critic&#8217;s Den<\/a><\/em>). One that particularly caught my eye was an article by <a href=\"https:\/\/missiology.org.uk\/ple_s-u_taylor.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">James Hudson-Taylor<\/a>, the founder of the China Inland Mission, in which he links eschatology with missions. I have OCRed and uploaded this article separately <a href=\"https:\/\/missiology.org.uk\/pdf\/e-books\/taylor-j-hudson\/be-ready_morning-star_1894_23-24_taylor.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While is would have possible to upload this journal to the <a href=\"https:\/\/theologicalstudies.org.uk\/doct_eschatology.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">TheologicalStudies.org.uk website, which has an extensive section on eschatology<\/a>, I have decided to host it on the Missiology website instead.
